Robert M. Rossiter founded the firm currently known as Rossiter Financial Group in 1947. Bob began his business as the Robert M. Rossiter Agency and was located on Court Street in Brooklyn, New York. Bob operated a successful insurance agency for many years. In 1980, he decided to move his business from Brooklyn to Long Island, specfically to the village of Huntington. At that time, Bob began his affiliation with the Gundermann & Gundermann Insurance Agency and he became incorporated as Rossiter-Gundermann, Inc.

In 1983, Timothy Rossiter joined Rossiter Gundermann, Inc. Under Bob's direction, Tim decided to further his financial background, and he became a Certified Financial Planner. When Bob Rossiter retired in 1998, the corporation of Rossiter-Gundermann, Inc. was dissolved, and at that time Tim established Rossiter Financial Group, Inc. The firm specializes in assisting clients with many aspects of planning, including assisting them with decisions that impact long-term care..Medicare, Medicaid, and estate planning.

In 1999, Tim hired Beth Love to assist administratively in the recently incorporated Rossiter Financial Group, Inc. Formerly an elementary school teacher in North Carolina and in Germany, Ms. Love is a Boston College graduate. As the client base of Rossiter Financial Group grew, so did Beth’s responsibilities; she now holds both life/health and securities licenses.

Beth has completed the requirements for the Certified Senior Advisor Certificate, sat on the Board of The Women’s Financial Group, and chairs the Assistant’s Advisory Committee of American Portfolios (our broker dealer).

Ms Love has a passion for travel. She counts her friends and family (especially her husband and two children) as her greatest treasures.

In 2001 Sylvester Mallardi began a full-time affiliation with Rossiter Financial Group, Inc. A Certified Financial Planner since 2000, Syl has held securities licenses and life/health licenses for over twenty years. Mr. Mallardi serves as Rossiter Financial Group’s Medicare Specialist, a resource for all of us at Rossiter Financial Group Inc.

Syl is a member of the Financial Planners Association and he enjoys philanthropic activities with the Arthritis Foundation and Cystic Fibrosis. A golf enthusiast, Mr. Mallardi and his wife have two sons.

In 2002, Daniel Rossiter joined forces with his father and with Rossiter Financial Group Inc. A SUNY Oswego College and St. Anthony’s High School graduate, Dan spent several years working for the Oppenheimer Funds in their New York City Headquarters. Just prior to leaving his Internal Wholesaler position, Dan was awarded the prestigious Internal Wholesaler of the Year Award for outstanding performance in serving the needs of his clients.

Dan began his career at Rossiter Financial Group by focusing on Employee Benefits for companies across Long Island and Manhattan. While his initial focus was on health insurance, Dan has expanded his business to include all aspects of financial and estate planning. Among other accomplishments, Dan has partnered with a long-time colleague to assist in serving the needs of his established client base.

Fully licensed in life, health and securities, when Dan is not working you may find him on the golf course, or attending a Ranger, a Yankee or Cowboys game. Dan’s first priority is the time that he spends with his wife and three children.

Along with her client base, Sharon Clancy Bilkey joined the firm in 2007. Sharon is a graduate of both St. Anthony’s High School and Assumption College. She began a health-services-related career as a unit coordinator at the Lahey Clinic in Boston. She later worked as a sales assistant for the medial device unit of Olympus. Prior to becoming a licensed independent life and health insurance broker, Sharon also worked for US Healthcare/Aetna. Sharon’s varied experience in the health services industry makes her a tremendous resource.

Sharon and her husband enjoy the beach and the out of doors. They are kept busy with the activities of their two young children.

In 2010 Karen Catuosco joined Rossiter Financial Group as Dan Rossiter’s full-time assistant. Ms Catuosco is responsible for the important administrative processes associated with health and life insurance as well as the financial planning needs of Dan’s clients. A graduate of SUNY Oswego, Karen’s past work experience in other industries mirrors the need for her attention to detail, organization and calls on her skills in multi-tasking. Karen holds licenses in life/health and real estate. Along with her husband, Karen is active in the school and community activities of their three sons.

The financial professionals within the organization work closely with estate planning and elder law attorneys in developing Medicare plans as well as trusts, wills, health-care proxies, and durable powers of attorney. Working with several accounting practices, Rossiter Financial Group, Inc. is able to confidently recommend them for the preparation of income taxes as well as estate planning preparation.
